& G’day Squirrel Fans, hope I find you bright eyed & bushy tailed!

Sunday is dull & very wet here in deepest, darkest Yorkshire.

It’s Mrs S’s birthday so we’re off to Harrogate to Bettys Tea Rooms for her birthday treat. (Part 1)

Enjoying an episode of Father Brown with my coffee before getting ready to go out.

Cashew later Peeps, have a fabulously nutty day ! 😊🫶:party_major_squirrel:🖖

HBD Mrs S from bonnie aberdeen.

getting flat decorated.

so not a peaceful sunday at chez paul's.

@MAJ1

Alt text wonky.

Exposed lath.

Plasterboard that won't fit in car. We cut it up and luckily it did not rain.

Strawberry on ground.

Stork in nest.

@amiserabilist We had a near death experience transporting a too large piece of plasterboard, cutting it up was eminently sensible!

You keep your larch to yourself - the nerve of some folk wandering around with their lath exposed!!

I’m assuming that you hired the stork because you couldn’t afford a crane for your home improvements?

@MAJ1

haha,

i got windows and floors to stop draught but it is still coming through the walls.

my mate is doing the work part time, so will be on the sofa till friday night.

i could stay at friends but that is too much of an imposition.

the stork is advertising stork roofing.

we had to detour as they shut the main road and turned town into a low emission zone.

@amiserabilist @MAJ1 Is it a live stork or a sculpture? Was the company named after it, or did they deliberately give it a good nesting spot?

paul

@jhavok

a sculpture and a clever marketing gimmick.

White Stork spotted in a field in Aberdeenshire

Hi.

Not sure where to post a sighting.

I know they are quite rare in the UK so I thought I'd mention it.

A single White stork in a sheep field just outside Huntly in Aberdeenshire. I got a couple of really rubbish photos on my phone.

I drove back passed about an hour later and it had gone.
