My memorial to David Lynch will be to hopefully introduce some folks to INTERVIEW PROJECT.
In 2009, Lynch crossed the US and back (20,000 miles), interviewing Americans intimately familiar to me, but invisible to most of the world. The underdogs, the down-and-out, those who don't fit in, mostly. A lot of broken dreams. Ain't that America.
There are 122 films, directed by Lynch, portraits under 5:00. All are available on Lynch's YouTube channel, re-released for the project's 15th Anniversary last Fall.
Here's the trailer, with a selection of interview films to follow in a thread.

I'm posting select films from #DavidLynch's INTERVIEW PROJECT (2009).
CLINTON, from Fayetteville WV, appealed to me because he's a way-outsider with a passion, and will tell anyone who'll listen all about it.
Every small town in America has a CLINTON that "decent folks" tsk tsk at, but CLINTONs DGAF! Not even a small fraction of a tiny F.
They're my heroes.
Plays in the post (3:40).
