The Cavan Town Christmas market had to be cancelled when #StormDarragh passed thru Ireland a couple of weeks ago. The organisers reimagined and rearranged it for evening time this week inside and outside around the Town Hall, and it was terrific. And so one's dinner this evening was yummy bao buns followed by churros, eaten al fresco listening to great live music. Delicious. Thanks everyone.
Following #StormDarragh, #Holyhead Port will be closed to ferry services until at least 15th January 2025. #NorthWales

If you're looking for a good cause and you'd like a little bit of donation to go a long way, our local childcare nursery got damaged in the recent storms.
They're only crowdfunding for £500 and they've got £100 already. It would make a big difference to many small kids and their parents in #Machynlleth.

Art Advent Calendar Day 12
While I was without internet for five days on foot of Storm Darragh and couldn't do my normal "bread & butter" job, I made a bunch of decorative world maps in Photoshop. This is my favourite.
The whole collection is here:

We're sad to announce that around 8 trees were lost in Storm Darragh. This number could have been much higher if it wasn’t for our incredible Tree Gang.
The fallen trees and branches won’t go to waste - some will be mulched, while others will be carved into small products

Our #Sheep have been very restricted in where they can go thanks to #stormdarragh and fallen trees. Today, after 5 days, they are allowed back out in the fields and they are excited to regain their freedom, charging around.

I'm back. Power gone for 2 days. Internet gone for 5 days. Work deadlines looming. #stormdarragh
Managed to get a message out on solarcene.community that the battery was low, we've had another prolonged period of cloud including #StormDarragh and are often barely generating more then 60Wh a day. Battery got critically low yesterday and so the whole system shutdown.
I've managed to get a little bit online (network switch and the "dietpi" which manages the web requests including the blog https://blog.solarcene.community/ and custom 50x errors) and we are drawing 3W. Hopefully we will get a little bit of sun today though estimates are still low.
Solarcene.community will be off for the next 24hrs and perhaps even 48hrs and then I'll switch to it being online for 4hrs a day at least until the battery is in a better position.
Of course those who use solarcene won't necessarily get this message as it's offline
„Thousands of people are still without power three days after the storm hit.“
"We're eating cold food as well because we don't have gas and we've lost all the food in our fridge and our freezer.“
"It's like being back in the war."
„People will die in storm power cuts, councillor says“
It's surprising how much the two cages containing this year's #leaves have begun to drop. Over a foot in a week! Must mean we're heading for a good load of #compost
#StormDarragh has also brought down loads of #twigs and small #treebranches that need to be cleared
