Dear Makers of Lovely and Painful Things,

Thank you for showing us daily the beauty, joy, tenderness, and peace that is possible in this world. Thank you for reflecting the terror, sorrow, horror, and worries that we all share in this world. We need your words, the things you've made, your ideas no matter how small you think they are.

Sometimes you put your music (all of the arts, all of the crafts, all of it) out into the world, and maybe it seems like nobody is listening. You do it anyway and we stumble across it someday and fail to say thank you. We are insecure and don't know how to respond. We have to think about it for a while until it blossoms into something we understand deep in our psyche. You makers rarely hear about it. Yet, you go on making, sharing your ideas with us.
