Block anyone who diminishes your experience for any reason. You can block good people if they bother you. It's fine.
People get hung up on what it "means" to block or what "message" it sends, but forget all that. You're making the Internet that you want and nothing more.
I regularly mute people THAT I FOLLOW, temporarily, when they get off into some rabbit hole that irritates me. I temporarily mute topics that interest me if I get overwhelmed.
Reading the Internet is not your job.
@mxyzptlk I sometimes ban users (usually mass media, not people) that get reposted by those, whom I follow. especially when they write in languages I don't speak. I speak 3 languages and read in some more but I repect privacy and don't use auto-translation: this may leak data, evel limited-scope posts, to corps and/to to AI, which I consider unacceptable. so I just cannot understand some posts. this is not anybody's fault. and I dislike posts about politics, just got deadly tired of that bs. there're things that are more valuable and interesting to pay my attention to.
