beige.party is one of the many independent Mastodon servers you can use to participate in the fediverse.
A home to friendly weirdos. The Grey Gardens of the Fediverse (but beige). Occasionally graphically cacographic. Definitely probably not a cult (though you'll never be 100% sure). Beige-bless 🙏

What makes sandwich fillings woke?! Does the cheese make you a feminist? Try our Black Lives Matter Egg Salad?! You have to get the I'm A Decent Person Cranberry Mustard?!

@arisummerland @RickiTarr I actually tried making a triple fried egg chili chutney sammie not long after I first saw the episode 20-some years ago. It's not bad but the bread did indeed start to dissolve pretty quickly.

@SKleefeld @arisummerland @RickiTarr I do a Red Dwarf Recipe on the first day of the summer holidays each year (I work in a high school). The TFESWCS&C was the first one, and it's epic. But yeah, quickly loses structural integrity. It'd be wrong to step away from the cheap white bread, so toasting is the only option...and toasting on the Dwarf is an issue in itself...

Also tried:

Beer Milkshake - works with a nice dark stout, but it's not as good as a nice dark stout.

Shami Kebab Diablo - excellent.

Trout a la Creme - slightly odd, trout is just a tiny bit on the too-oily side. But perfectly edible.

Gazpacho soup - as with Shami Kebab Diabolo, a default nice recipe.

To do: Space Weevil. I'm thinking something combining lobster and chicken wings. On a smaller scale I've had chilli mealworms, surprisingly nice.

@SKleefeld @RickiTarr I'm wondering how sacreligious to Dwarf Fandom it would be to make it with a white sourdough, because that tends to have a much stronger gluten structure? But I think the whole point of having the chili and the chutney on the white bread is that it does start to soak in and dissolve. Plus you gotta eat it really fast because the fried eggs are gonna get cold. I have tried making a version of this in the past, and it was delicious.
