There is no reason for Canada to even consider the possibility let alone discuss our position as a US state.
Let me quote our Prime Minister:
"There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States," Trudeau "
And as a Canadian I am very annoyed whenever anyone brings up the possibility of us giving up our sovereignty.
I am not alone in feeling this, so please never ask again because some of us might not respond with a civilized reply.

@SnowshadowII I cannot make my compatriots understand that we've been hostages to the US and this is why our kids die in their wars of plunder. The promise is help with defence should the Asian bogeyman descend on us. (Sadly, we're REALLY racist).

@SnowshadowII That's correct. My family is Finnish. My father emigrated here in 1960. My mother was Australian and so am I. Mostly.
@SnowshadowII Also, the Australian flag has been co-opted by our right wing. It's also a symbol that we remain a British colony. I don't recognise it as anything other than a hate symbol.
