There is no reason for Canada to even consider the possibility let alone discuss our position as a US state.
Let me quote our Prime Minister:
"There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States," Trudeau "
And as a Canadian I am very annoyed whenever anyone brings up the possibility of us giving up our sovereignty.
I am not alone in feeling this, so please never ask again because some of us might not respond with a civilized reply.

@SnowshadowII Canada may see a swarm of refugees coming from the USA soon. Things have gone downhill rapidly since the felon took office. Trump is vindictive, and anyone not kissing his shoes is not safe.

@SnowshadowII@beige.partywe have been seeing it over the past two years, and sadly our government is turning people away and deporting them because of the "safe country" agreement. We can't grant Americans refugee status. It's been tried in court and thrown out every time.
@SnowshadowII Wait until the Felon starts labeling his detractors as "Enemies of the State". Status might change.
I truly am hoping our government does change the law. However we are busy with elections and a mess in parliament right now so it will have to wait for a while.
