I'm going to cradle your face gently in both my hands when I say this because I need you to hear me.
If only citizens have the right to due process, then nobody has the right to due process.
Because once you're in custody on some trumped up charges, all it takes is for them to say you're not a citizen. And then you don't have the right to due process to prove them wrong. So I'm going to say it again.
If ONLY citizens have due process, then NOBODY has due process.
@Lana if they can revoke a green card or H1-B visa at a whim, they can revoke citizenship with as much difficulty.
Ask Shamima Begum who *was* a British citizen, did a very stupid thing as a teenager, and now she's stateless.
They don't even have to go through the formal process of revoking it. All they have to do is CLAIM you aren't a citizen and never have been. Boom. You don't have due process anymore. And without due process, you have no means of proving you ARE a citizen in a court of law.
@Lana precisely why this is *so* dangerous!
