Today, Trump has put a total of 20 percent tariffs on medicine made in Europe.
One of the most popular medicines made in my country Denmark is Wegovy. Its list price yesterday was USD 500 per month. Trump has now potentially raised that to 600 dollars.
Every. Single. Month.

Update: While the point about the tariffs holds, the above is actually a bad example, as pharmaceuticals including Wegovy are exempt for now. Thank you to @deepak for pointing that out.
@randahl Going to be a lot of dead people, but Trump won’t care. He’ll see it as survival of the fittest, or somesuch. Lack of medications, massive price hikes on absolutely everything because of tariffs, rise in unemployment because of DOGE, lack of people to grow and harvest any kind of foodstuffs because of deportations…. And more. A big stagflation/depression is about to hit the USA, starting tonight. how much of the rest of the world will be impacted? Anyone who trades with the USA will. Rest of the world now has an opportunity to build new trade [tariff-free] relationships with everyone else.
@HarriettMB I am convinced, Canada, the UK, Norway and the EU will move closer together thanks to Trump, just like Putin gave us the two new NATO members Sweden and Finland.
@randahl Not sure about the UK. PM Starmer seems determined to be Trumps friend; playing down the horrors of the tariffs, and taking about being calm and remaining engaged with #FeloniousTrump. Literally everyone is screaming about how stupid and wrong this attitude is.
