Do Republican Americans even know that Ireland is part of the #EU? Do they know companies decide where they want to build their infrastructure, and that companies often have more than one manufacturing base? Is this American administration trying to force all companies to maintain one manufacturing facility in the USA and nowhere else? While they are currently targeting Ireland, as a small country, like they are targeting Greenland, is this to send a bully/intimidation message to other countries? The rest of the world might be wise to avoid the USA every possible way and create alternative links, trades etc. #WhiteHouseWash #USAPolitics #BoycottUSA Is Ireland really running a 'tax scam'? https://www.rte.ie/brainstorm/2025/0327/1504190-ireland-corporate-tax-scam-rules-perceptions-interational-law/
@HarriettMB Ireland has the fourth largest US trading deficit in the world ($80 billion, after China, Mexico and Vietnam). Creatively accounting for IP could double or even triple the perceived imbalance, putting Ireland second in line for rough treatment. It is easy justify calling the low tax haven status a scam. Our government seems totally blithe and unprepared for what is coming.

As I recall, Eire just has a low Corporation Tax rate, something Republicans should like and which irritates UK.gov, so good thing there.
Also you got rid of the UK Crown and have a People's President almost - again good thing.
Tax Havens are usually UK Crown Dependencies like T&C.
But if they want to talk revenue dodging, it's the US Digi nightmares registered in Luxembourg to evade tax.
And yet they P&M about our Digital Services Tax, when the UK state subsidises most of their Online companies.
I fully agree with local manufacturing, either under licence or operated by the original company.
Reduces food miles etc and good for local economies.
The problem is when profits are exported, such as happens with ... US companies!
