Not that I’m worried, but this is the first time in 4+ years that my son and I have not received a bank notice of our Social Security payments received by our credit union as Pending.
😱😬😮😵‍💫
It’s only the mortgage and utilities that need to be paid.
😱

So it’s late night on the last day of the month and just checked the banking —still no pending deposits of social security. We definitely do not have our money for the first day of the month. I feel sick.

Wow, finally the Social Security money is in our accounts! What a relief. This has been a dreadful experience to have a disruption and extra worry. Now I sure hope most due their checks get them. This morning our local paper has run a story about April-June delays possible. There is a new scheme that ties the date the check is deposited to your name order. Very confusing when it tells about staggering payments. This is simply not how people have to pay their rent/mortgage, utilities, etc. I can’t imagine how many landlords are going to accept new schedules.

Don’t know if anyone else has this takeaway lately, but I am so afraid of likely economic disruptions. Of course I’m fearful for my family, and then for my neighbors but of course I do expect ugliness to fall all around. What a stunning condition for those of us who believed we could “make a difference”.

When I think of the progression from “keep my family safe” to “where can we go that’s safe” to “no one is safe” it’s such despair. I am so very sad this is what our children have now. I think often of my 23 year old granddaughter telling me 2 years ago many people her age are just thinking it’s not right to bring more children into this world.

I’ll not be able to live with myself but for we do what needs to be done.

@cobalt123 Contact your Congress Rep now and make sure they know.

@Donnerr Welp it is unlike to help in any way since Arizona is overwhelmingly GOP in power. But if it comes to this you bet I will be a relentless crank.

@cobalt123 oh no. Fingers crossed. 🤞

@cobalt123 This is not good news. I hope that things work out. Hugs

@cobalt123 I finally got mine, so hope you will too.

@cobalt123
I checked mine earlier and it's showing Pending. Best wishes, this is so damn scary.

@cobalt123
Jfc I hope it's just a glitch. Ours are on the 3rd but we can dip into our meager savings to cover the mortgage for a few days.

@olav We used to actually get the deposit in the account on or by the third. Usually we have received the pending notice within the last 3 days of a month. So, am nervous.

@cobalt123
I've never gotten notifications like that from my bank. It's just there when I wake up that morning. Hopefully that's the only change you get.

@cobalt123 I hope this turns out ok for you. If it's any reassurance at all, my husband and I both got our Soc Sec deposits on the 26th as scheduled.

@cobalt123 Please call your Senators in the morning. I hope it's just slow, for all of us.

@cobalt123 Mine showed up yesterday, but not until after 10 AM when the bank opened 😬🤞

@cobalt123 Oh shit. I'm so sorry.

@cobalt123 I’m so glad that you got your payment!

@cobalt123

My partner and I got our SSA checks deposited in our joint checking account today — which is the normal day of the month.

… delays would be a big problem

@cobalt123 whew. What a relief.

@cobalt123
Oh good. I've been wondering about that all morning. 👌

@cobalt123 Stagflation is a real threat being talked about by economists rn.

@cobalt123 Also if people have their monthly Medicare payments deducted from their Social Security checks, and there are #SSA disruptions, won’t this mess up Medicare recipients?
