Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 510 , Friday 21/03/2025
Friday started really early at around ten past six in the very AM! This was despite another night where I had disturbed sleep thru noised form next door & my body presenting the bill for yesterdays efforts in the gravel pit!

I really struggled to get myself going so read awhile & then headed down for breakfast.

Mrs S was away to work at the office today so once she left I finished my chores & around 9am went out for another gravel grovelling session.

Progress is being made, after 5 hours I had finally got the gravel level in the bulk bag down to about the ¼ full mark, maybe slightly less. The reed bed filter is nearly full so my efforts are paying off. It does seem to be the job that never ends though!

Started Fallout 76’s season 20 this afternoon as my hands were not too sore - more my back & knees.

Pizza for tea & a couple of ‘Waking the dead’ episodes to take us thru to Mrs S’s bed time.

So I’m here at 20:45 on my own. I might get another early night & go to bed & read for a while.

Final Thoughts.

The whole reed bed cleaning exercise is a ver 2 edged sword. On the one hand it seems to be taking just forever! On the other there is definite progress, the water going back into the pond is crystal clear & the gravel levels are starting to get back to their original state. I might have to get a couple of extra small bags of pea gravel as there has been some spillage , some of which might be recoverable but some is gone into places where recovery is not an option.

It’s been nice working out in the warm weather I have to admit. The little bluetooth speaker I got for my audio books has quite the range & I was listening to my fave tracks in the garden with the iPad in the lounge.

A few days off from the gravel pit now, it’s Mrs S’s birthday on Sunday & she has next week off & we are planning on going out for lunch & maybe out to Doncaster Wildlife park if the weather improves during the week.

Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖
