Respectfully; I don't understand why they keep making Planet of the Apes films. Or Jurassic films come to think of it. They're basically all exactly the same.
@TheBreadmonkey You may have answered your own puzzle there.
@TheBreadmonkey
The first one made money, so they alter it a lttle and pot it out again. They'll keep on doing it until it becomes a pathetic cartoon series.
@TheBreadmonkey How did apes survive the dinosaur extinction?
@TheBreadmonkey Now I haven’t seen the very latest one, to be fair.
But the reason I absolutely adore the Planet of the Apes films is that (putting aside the Burton Mis-step) each one is *totally* unlike all of the others.
@TheBreadmonkey i don't understand why they make / keep making *a lot* of films. and telly programs. and "music".
oh no wait, yes i do: for the £o£s
@TheBreadmonkey That's why lol
I used to work at a restaurant with a large group of people who would come in every day and order the same thing every day. That sounds awful to me, but some people love it.
To be fair I would like wine and cake every day and have watched the film Blade over 20 times. Who am I to judge.
@RickiTarr @TheBreadmonkey I had a boss who found a dish he liked at the local restaurant, and every time he was there ordered it. He likes to not have to think about stuff.
@mhkohne @RickiTarr @TheBreadmonkey Ordering what you know you'll love causes more happiness for many people than trying other things, even if they are guaranteed to taste good. The staff at my favourite downtown pub know what I like.
@mhkohne @RickiTarr @TheBreadmonkey nothing is more terrifying to me than “surprises” while eating. I like to minimize the variables when eating out.
@Frantasaur @mhkohne @RickiTarr @TheBreadmonkey On this topic, for me I’d say it’s not so much that I order the same thing because I don’t want to risk variety, it’s that I go to that particular restaurant specifically for that thing. The choice of what to eat is the same as the choice of where to go.
@JeremyDGoodwin @mhkohne @RickiTarr @TheBreadmonkey yeh, that’s also true. Going to a Loetje in the Netherlands and not ordering biefstuk Bali would just be a massive waste
I think, in a fit of helpfulness, the production companies believe we can't find the originals. So they make new ones.
You can tell they really care about their audience.
<sigh>
The younger generation of film makers keep remaking our movies.
This is what happens to young minds when you stare at a phone all day..
@TheBreadmonkey I think this even more for things like Masterchef where I'm pretty sure *all the actual shots and edit points* would all line up in a stack on a timeline.
@TheBreadmonkey There are, to all appearances, no new stories. The good news is that there is so much depth and nuance to the Iron Man saga.
