Have you ever visited someone and they tell you don't worry about getting a hotel, we have a place for you to sleep, and then you get there, and it's like the weirdest thing to sleep on?

@RickiTarr I saw some of the dog beds for sale at London Drugs a couple weeks ago. So, yeah, real thing… Hadn’t thought I’d have a use for one, but maybe I’ll go back and pick one up in case I have guests.

@RickiTarr We got our dog a giant (for her) dog bed and this is how she sleeps on it. Oh Lucy.
as someone with a back and some amount of years what is comfortable for one might be uncomfortable for another.

@RickiTarr the human sized dog bed is *almost* big enough for my two chihuahuas to to sleep on together without getting territorial.

I'm not so sure about where to store one or several out of the way, though.

I hand overnight guests an electric pump and an air bed in a box.......
I'd absolutely sleep on either of those - but I do have a perfectly boring folding murphy bed for when I have guests.
@RickiTarr I have slept on a garage bean bed (not beans, but shredded foam) for a few years now. It's a pain in the ass to make every morning because you have to literally flip it over 1/ 4 turn, and slam it on the floor to get it to fluff up. It also goes lopsided sometimes

It happened to me. A co-worker insisted I stay with him when I was working too far away to safely get home late at night. They put me in their child's room on a short twin bed and I'm a tall person.
They said they were putting little Billy on the living room couch because, "he's a big boy now". The couch would have been better for me. LOL
I sneaked out and took a nap in the truck.
@RickiTarr The beanbag. In the morning I'd cut the underneath so it would start spilling its stuffing at every use and never interact with them, their family or friends ever again. It was also be a 1-star Trip Advisor review.
@RickiTarr I once had to sleep on a futon that was so old it was like concrete and the hard mattress thing had conformed to the shape of the wooden slats underneath. So a kind of wavy surface.
I don't remember sleeping badly though. Must have slept well.

"Futon in Husband's Office with fresh linens, Blow-Up Queen Bed with fresh linens in My office, comfy living room couch that will probably be shared with small dog, or our bed in the primary with-attached-bathroom suite with fresh linens (also likely to be shared with small dog).
I feel like friends/family, reading this energy, give me the same warnings/options/details.
@RickiTarr I have two huskies. No one is going to want to sleep on the dog bed. Or any bed, knowing the amount of fur that is probably around. Even after cleaning.

Depends on the type of beans vs type of dog. Navy beans vs. Chihuahua? Bean bag. Baked beans vs. Golden retriever? Dog bed.
