Believing it's your group's ideas that are pure and superior - not, for instance, your race - isn't the answer.
@OutOnTheMoors
Civic nationalism teaches you to take pride in the number of people who join your team.
@HighlandLawyer @OutOnTheMoors
The word "nationalism" is just too toxic - and rightly so - and so it takes away from the pride of a group of people, regardless of their background, coming together to do good things.
It think that poster is referring to Ethnic Nationalism - the nation and nationality are defined in terms of ethnicity.
I think it is time for the discussion about the different types of Nationalism there is.
I would say many people in the 4 regions would identify their Nationalism as - Civic Nationalism. A political identity based on a shared identity upholding freedom, tolerance, equality and individual rights.

ethno nationalism I know it sounds pedantic but conflation leads people to end up making the same mistake as this:

@Theriac The Nazis were the National Socialists. Trying to split hairs about party names misses the point of what my post is about.
@OutOnTheMoors@beige.party
ok I won't trouble you anymore, you didn't read the post and you don't want to. Cool.
But to clarify my point the National Gallery isn't a hive of nazis, while National Socialists are.

Have a look at the linked article to get the context of my post if you haven't already.
Nationalism is merely cheap religion.
Mmmm, I don't know. I would probably hate the transnational capitalists as much if I met them. And on the other hand, I am certainly part of some national characteristics of my country in my everyday life, and I can be proud of them...
@OutOnTheMoors It's like "Congratulations. You were born in a country."
