@AaronDavid doesn't prevent Long Haul or spread or repeat infections. It'd be better to enforce clean air and masks over the vaccines, they do bare minimum.
@SarahSanger @AaronDavid This is about childhood vaccines. But were it about Covid-19 vaccines...it's fine to do vaccines and all that you list. Covid-19 vaccines significantly help to keep from getting seriously ill and clogging up hospitals, and that's a very good thing.
@stacey_campbell @AaronDavid They do but as someone with Long Haul, I've been watching the studies and the vaccine does minimal to prevent Long Haul. Also covid infections are proven to damage immune systems, rendering vaccinations limited in their ability to help. Which is part of the reason TB is coming back. There is an argument to be made that providing clean air to children is just as important as providing vaccines.

@SarahSanger @AaronDavid Are we masking against polio, measels and other preventable diseases making a comeback because mouth-breathers won't vaccinate their kids?
@Veza85UE @AaronDavid That's not the only reason other disease are "making a comeback." The other reason is that covid destroys your immune system in a similar way comparable to AIDS. As of yet, it is the only airborne virus to do so.
@Veza85UE @AaronDavid The upside to masking against covid, is that it also protects us from "mouth-breathers" who are spreading other preventable diseases. I would caution against that term seeing that for me (with all of the studies available and covid being the 3rd leading cause of death in the US) doesn't just apply to anti-vaxxers.

I don't see anyone disputing that. Except covid is unlikely to be the cause of measles et al making comeback outbreaks in 2017 and 2018, for example. Those are on antivaxxers, not covid.

Yes there are anti-vaxxers contributing to the spread of disease and allowing covid to destroy children's immune systems will also allow disease to spread.
Just that you argue for vaxxing, which our children have barely been w/effectiveness fading at 6 months at best which doesn't prevent spread of covid & children catching covid still damages their immune systems... And not for masking/clean air or preventing spread of covid in children.

Nobody's disputing benefits of masking against covid. I live in a country where anti-mask hysteria wasn't a thing (also: 96% vaccination rate). It's weird anglo brainworms as far as I'm concerned.

OK...? You were responding to a dumb but amusing meme about antivaxxers not vaccinating their children in general, covid wasn't mentioned anywhere. Masking won't fix measles or idiocy.

@Veza85UE @AaronDavid The point being that vaxxing doesn't work as well if you've had covid (see previous arguments for cited study) and I don't know where you are but we are sending our children in to school unmasked, and through much of the states, without proper ventilation. That's the point, THERE IS NO POINT TO VAXXING IF YOU ARE LETTING COVID RIP THROUGH CHILDREN'S IMMUNE SYSTEMS. Just wanted to clarify because you came in late and seem to be confused.
