Vlaams openbaar vervoer komt qua prijs stilaan in de buurt van Zwitserland, zonder de dienstverlening wel te verstaan.

I cities where you can pay for transit with a tap of a credit card. It's so freeing!
Yay for Marseille and Vancouver! Montreal when?
Anyone in the Portland area who uses #TriMet care to Test Flight my app? It’s a re-write of the currently shipping version of PDX Transit however it is now 100% SwiftUI and uses Swift Data and Swift Concurrency — includes App Shortcuts, Widgets, & a SwiftUI version of PDX Transit for Apple Watch. Also has fun things like on device translations for service alerts and look around in Maps. Unlike the previous version, it has an iPad optimized layout too.

The impact of #RideOn extends beyond transportation. It's been a driving force for economic development, helping workers
reach their jobs, customers access businesses
, and students
travel to schools and universities. For many, it is more than just a bus
ride, it is a vital link to opportunity.

Setting: 2026. A Chicago bus stop.
Me: [dancing]
Man: Excuse me sir, what are you doing?
Me: I'm doing the classic Chicago line dance, the bus stop.
Man: Why, pray tell?
Me: Now that our #PublicTransit has gone over the "fiscal cliff," that is all one can do at a #Chicago bus stop.
Man: [looks quizzically, walks away]
Me: [continues dancing]
Ding dong... doors closing.
This is a Chicago Transit Authority train to nowhere.
This line is closed due to a lack of funding for public transit in specific and public goods in general by the American government at all levels.
I recognized Dhaka instantly by its bicycle rickshaws
It's been 25 years since I visited Bangladesh, and I loved it.

In the Star, @GraphicMatt on risks to Eglinton Crosstown success:
“Together, these two failures — poor route management and bad or non-existent transit priority — could easily spell disaster for the Eglinton LRT once it starts service. I hope I’m wrong. Especially because better management and signal priority on the surface section of the Eglinton line would likely translate to better management of other surface routes.”

Apparently the reduction of cars in lower Manhattan and increased money in #PublicTransit represent a threat to the American Way if we are to believe the #Trump administration

Even if it isn't technically a conflict of interest, it both seems borderline like one, and a missed opportunity to bring someone in who has experience running operations for a rail system.
The AC Transit Board of Directors approved a two-phase fare adjustment, raising the local adult cash fare by 25 cents, from $2.50 to $2.75, and increasing the Transbay cash fare from $6 to $6.50, effective July 1, 2025. A second 25-cent increase will bring the local cash fare to $3 on July 1, 2026. https://alamedapost.com/news/ac-transit-board-approves-fare-hike-effective-july-1/
Starting Monday, April 7, ferry service schedule changes will take effect on the Oakland & Main Street Alameda route, the Alameda Seaplane route, and the Oakland-Alameda water shuttle. Be sure to check the new schedule before you go! https://alamedapost.com/news/upcoming-ferry-schedule-changes/
I wasn't looking, and didn't really want to, when the city bus driver shouted, "put your pants back on or get off my bus!" I am absolutely not turning around. Some things are better left a mystery. #PublicTransit #BusAdventures
I *really* don't like these Veo scooters in my city. Everything from having public transit provided by a private company, to the fact you have to download an app to use them, to the fact people leave them in the worst places (as shown here) annoys me.
Yikes. @shawnmicallef.bsky.social shares rumour the TTC’s terrible ex-CEO Rick Leary could be the new CEO of Metrolinx.
He’ll do whatever Queen’s Park tells him to do, including starve the agency. So much for expanded regional transit and on-time performance?
