electragician
In mid-May I'll be riding on the inaugural run of the "Florida Traverse", from the FL/GA state line, down to the Everglades. This is a ride mapped out by a group called DixieDualSport, which hosts another ride that I partake in annually, now called the "AMA/Triumph Cross-Florida National Adventure Ride".

The Florida Traverse will be a selection of dirt roads and paved connectors, and should be a lot of fun. It'll mean 4 days in the saddle, with the middle two being long... roughly 9hrs of mixed dirt and pavement, so my biggest concern is that my leg holds up. The other two days are (for me) a 2.5 hour ride to get to the starting point the day before, and a roughly 6 hour road ride back on the final day, to get home from South Florida.

I had an offroad accident back in December that required a plate and some screws to help my lower leg heal. The route shouldn't be too demanding, as its roads, not trails, and is laid out for "big bikes". That said, it's Florida, so areas of deep sand are a given.

Regardless, I'm stoked. These rides are some of the most fun I have all year. This one will have roughly 100 other riders, though I will be basically doing it "solo", unless I find a small group to do it with. It's usually nice to get a pack of 2 or 3 riders together, just so you have immediate help if things get "festive" :D

#motorcycle
#motorcycles
#motorcycling
#florida
