Cape Rockjumper
African Penguin
Blue Crane
Rock Dassie
Although I saw 35 ‘lifers’ today, 1 stopped me in my tracks - the Orange-breasted Sunbird. Wow such colours. The young Boomslang snake was a good spot too.

Doubletree by Hilton, Cape Town
Helderberg nature reserve in Somerset West.
This bit of paradise sits on the edge of the City of Cape Town metro area.
A massive fire tore through here a few years ago, but the fynbos is doing what fynbos does: regenerating spectacularly.

Common Storksbill (Pelargonium Capitatum)
From the Fynbos Biome
Beautiful and hardy, they survive scorchingly hit and dry summers with temperatures rising to 40°C+
Winters are cold and wet with about 80% of the annual rainfall during winter.

Walking with a friend on the mountain above Kalk Baai and didn't want to hold her up so all my photos of white flowers are a bit blown out.
Got rained on, which was nice.
Saw a big pod of dolphins from our viewpoint on the mountain. Lots of gulls flying above them, must be a lot of fish to eat.
Just back from a birthday hike in the mountains.
Marloth nature reserve perches on a stretch of the Langeberg Mountain range that towers above Swellendam, #SouthAfrica.
This range prevents most precipitation from reaching the arid Little Karoo landscape beyond. But this ocean side stays lush with green #fynbos.
We’ve just missed the local proteas in full bloom, but still a good specimen here and there.
