Here's a track that came out 5 years ago, but—given the rise of fascism around the world—feels very, very relevant today.

Outburst - ARTY x Stellz

The poem from the track is:

When they say you are inferior
Do not believe a word they say
Resist

When they say they need billions of dollars
To build bombs instead of build schools, open your eyes
Resist

When they say they want to preserve our way of life
So they must take life, this is a lie
Resist

When they pit a people against a people
And a nation against a nation in the name of world domination
Resist

Speak truth to power
Do not comply, do not believe
Do not accept, do not be afraid
Do not surrender, do not judge
Do not bear false witness against thy neighbor
Resist

This is Susan Sontag describing the fascist aesthetics in art. It's a pretty solid guide on what to look out for. But can art adopt these elements (in a nonsatirical way) and still not come across as fascist? Is it problematic to acknowledge FANTASIA and Busby Berkeley as genuine works of art (these are) even as they use fascist aesthetics?
