beige.party is one of the many independent Mastodon servers you can use to participate in the fediverse.
A home to friendly weirdos. The Grey Gardens of the Fediverse (but beige). Occasionally graphically cacographic. Definitely probably not a cult (though you'll never be 100% sure). Beige-bless 🙏

‘One hell of a turnout’: #trans activists rally in #London against gender ruling

This is AWESOME...!
I'm (technically) a cis woman (I also just see myself as an #autistic PERSON)

AND This "Ruling" sickens me.
I am NOT JUST my Boobs & "downstairs", or ovaries.
There's WAY MORE to being a WOMAN than THAT.

Also worries me about WHAT that MEANS for Trans Men??

SICKENINGLY ORWELLIAN

The Guardian · ‘One hell of a turnout’: trans activists rally in London against gender rulingBy James Tapper

🇬🇧 As the Montréalais.es demonstrators said last month, if we burn, you burn with us.

Right now we're in the "heat from fire" stage. Give it time to rise. Trump, the UK, and the Coalition Avenir Québec will be sweating soon enough.

#trans #transgender #transgenre #TransRights #DroitsTrans #TransDayOfVisibility #TransDayOfVisiblity #TransDayOfVisibilty #TransDayOfVengeance #JourneeDeVisibiliteTrans #JourneeDeRevancheTrans #uspoli #USPolitics #ukpoli #qcpoli

I will readily admit that I'm becoming a #DrBronners superfan, especially when I read their blog posts, including this powerful one on the recent #TransDayOfVisibility that provides an excellent list of organizations that they are supporting financially this year that advocate for true trans inclusion and acceptance.

This is not from yesterday. This is from #TransDayOfVisibility

Look how many people turned out to march for trans rights while it was pissing down rain. And they just kept on right to Trump Tower. Well done, #Chicago! You were great yesterday too.

I just made the switch from Gmail to Proton. I've had Gmail since 1999 (when it was still in beta). But no more. I'll be gradually moving away from using Google services. A few years ago I did the same with Apple, forwarding emails from there to Gmail. Now it all forwards to Proton.

Proton is based in Switzerland and emails on Proton are end-to-end encrypted and everything, even your calendar and contacts, are stored encrypted. Meaning, if they get served a warrant, there's really nothing they can turn over.

This is especially important in a country that is increasingly criminalizing the very existence of myself and people like me. Get your data out of the US and stored securely. It has never been more important. If not for yourself, then for the people you know.

Bruce Coville says, 'To support “Trans Day of Visibility” and my trans friends, I am offering this story, which I wrote in 1998 for an anthology edited by Lisa Rowe Fraustino called “DIRTY LAUNDRY: Stories about Family Secrets” It is, to the best of my knowledge, the first Trans-positive story ever published for the YA Market.' It's a hard read with possible triggers, but powerful.

"Who would you be if you had the freedom to live into the fullness of who you are?

That’s the question a new art installation put to transgender and nonbinary Americans across the country, asking them to weave all their joys, frustrations and hopes into more than 250 panels that will form a massive quilt"

One thing I was planning on writing for #TransDayOfVisibility is that a few weeks ago I tried hinting to a trusted friend that my pronouns weren't what she expects. It didn't go as planned. Somehow I think she came out of that conversation even more sure I'm cis, but a good trans ally. I know I'm not the first, and I'm not sure about the second.
