A home to friendly weirdos. The Grey Gardens of the Fediverse (but beige). Occasionally graphically cacographic. Definitely probably not a cult (though you'll never be 100% sure). Beige-bless 🙏

John Arnold<p>_The Evening Post_, 18 April 1925:<br> VOGUE OF RIBBONS<br> All the early predictions as to the trend of the spring modes point to the widespread use of <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/ribbons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ribbons</span></a> alike on dresses and millinery. Paris has to study American tastes, more or less, and it may be noted that there has been during the winter an intensive “publicity campaign” on the part of the ribbon section of the Silk Association of the United States to encourage the more general use of ribbons. The effort would seem to have met with considerable success, and the more costly of model costumes show ends, clusters, and rosettes that involve the employment of long lengths. Soft satin and moiré ribbons are favoured for hats. In these closing days of the sales ribbons are often greatly reduced in price, and the clever amateur milliner will still find many alluring bargains both in wide and narrow makes, and may secure something in charming colours with gold and silver borders and figurings.<br><a href="https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/EP19250418.2.126" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/news</span><span class="invisible">papers/EP19250418.2.126</span></a></p><p><a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/OnThisDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OnThisDay</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/OTD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OTD</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/PapersPast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PapersPast</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Fashion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fashion</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/WomensFashion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WomensFashion</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Clothing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Clothing</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/UnitedStates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UnitedStates</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/NewZealand" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NewZealand</span></a></p>
