FollowbotIt seems that some people may need more informations about what followbot are and why I have one on this server.First, feel free to block this bot if it annoys you.Due to the nature of the fediverse it is hard for a single user instance or small instances to federate and get a diverse federated timeline. An instance only gets posts from other instances that knows that it exists. To fix that the different fediverse software servers have their solutions. For Pleroma and Akkoma there are relays, but most of them are poor quality, badly moderated and depends on a remote admin to manage it. The alternative to relays are followbots. It's a simple rule in pleroma's software that uses this account to request follows from unknown users on unknown instances. It's supposed to follow <a class="hashtag" href="https://pl.eragon.re/tag/nobot" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#nobot</a>. But it might fail to respect it. I didn't write the bots code and don't know how to fix it if it fail, sorry, block the bot I guess…

Luckily I opted out 'automatically accept followers', so I can not only reject them, but also make them visible to other users through short replies as "Hello bot or not" and the added hashtags <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/nobot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#nobot</a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fediverse</a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mastodon</a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/bots" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bots</a> ...If everyone who is human and don't want to be followed by bots , datascrapers etc., would do so, we could probably stop them more...What do you think about this idea, is it useful or nonsense??

ErpelThere has been several times the request to make the Markov bot (like <a href="https://hai.z0ne.social/@Quackomatic" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@Quackomatic</a> ) talk to each other. Two safety guards are against this: 1. The bot only talks to the account who mentioned it. All other accounts are ignored. This is so no one can annoy people by tagging the bot in a hell thread and I don't have to check for the <a href="https://hai.z0ne.social/tags/nobot" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#nobot</a> flag 2. Answers to bots are blocked in the code at the moment. This is just because I didn't want to program a routine to check how far in a conversation thread we are so it stops after, e.g. 20 notes. The system would be like the reply system that was at work with <a href="https://universe.feliver.se/users/feli_bot" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@feli_bot@universe.feliver.se</a> . This bot also mentioned all accounts who also was mentioned in the reply but only to a depth of 10 or 15 notes.

ErpelHmmm... On a second thought... This might just be a stupid idea to begin with. If I respect the <a href="https://hai.z0ne.social/tags/nobot" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#nobot</a> tag then basically 90% of Fedi wouldn't get a response and the rest isn't visible in the public timeline... It seems I have to stick with doing the joke myself.
