In partnership with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, an additional £20m has been secured through the Government’s Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) funding scheme. The new fleet will operate in air quality hotspots in #Bristol and Bath, with half of First Bus’s fleet in the region now being zero-emission. The investment includes repowering 27 diesel buses. By 2035, First Bus aims for a fully zero-emission fleet. This initiative will reduce CO2 emissions by 75 tonnes annually per bus. The project is part of First Bus’s broader decarbonisation plan, improving air quality and supporting local economies while moving towards a sustainable transport network.
https://news.firstbus.co.uk/news/first-bus-invests-further-gbp-70m-in-zero-emission-bus-operations-expanding-electric-fleet-in-west-of-england
