Jake in the desert<p>So, I talk to the dude from Bluff City Vice (the singer from my #1 favorite record of last year, S2PID) sometimes and the other day he mentioned his favorite album of 2024, which was this-- True Green's 'My Lost Decade'. The dude from BCV knew Dan Hornsby when Dan was in Memphis, but now Dan does True Green out of Indiana. </p><p>Too late for consideration for my list, but this record is WILD. Kinda indie folk-punik lo-fi stuff, I hear some Dylan and some other things. Check out the lyrics-- track 3 especially, if you're not hooked by then, well, I don't know what to tell ya. </p><p>Dan's wife sings on this, too, you'll hear it. This is a KILLER synthpop record along the lines of Ladytron, etc. </p><p>GLASS SPELLS are a duo from California and singer Tania Costello even almost has a Stevie Nicks or 80s kind of vibe to her vocals sometimes. This year, it's Psychic Graveyard. Psychic Graveyard's record 'Wilting' from this year is KILLER. This is some great catchy, strange noise rock. I hear Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth, Pixies and Sebadoh in it.
