If you ever find yourself biking through Vernonia, OR, be sure to steer clear of this fascist shithole.
I actually recognize this place because they used to run a food cart in Portland under the same name. Last I heard they were shut down for giving people food poisoning.
Honestly, given the amount of Trump signs I've seen today, if you happen to find yourself biking through Vernonia, your best bet is probably to pedal as fast as you can away from this shit town. Try your luck in Banks or Scappoose instead.
Me, preparing to pedal like hell away from this fascist shithole. Hey everyone!
It's kind of a shame because Vernonia is a quaint little former timber town at the intersection of two great bike trails that is trying to attract weekend tourists from the city. Last time I was here it was not an election year and I was thoroughly charmed. After seeing so many Trump signs, however, I do not feel welcome here anymore. Someone needs to tell these folks that tradition and small "c" conservativism is fine. We don't have to agree on everything. It's when you try to dehumanize people and turn this country into fascist dictatorship that we're gonna have issues.
@theropologist Is the rooster hiding behind this guy?
@billinkc He's shoved in my backpack
@theropologist Hi Kris! You look great! Have you lost weight? I hope you have a nice ride!
@LoganFive yeah about ten pounds, and that was just the beard! I'm going for more, hence the pedaling.
Fart loudly and flip 'em off on your way back
@theropologist Be safe, have a great ride!
@theropologist why, hello there!
@theropologist
Great selfie! Hi
@theropologist You must be soup, because you're hot and mmm mmm good.
@theropologist Lookin good , glad to see your protecting your noggin!
@theropologist
It looks like a typical Trump-Dump supporter business/home, you know the people he loves (to hate)?
@theropologist In our suburb in PA it’s not even the number of Trump signs, it’s that they’re gigantic billboards people now build in their front yard. Completely ridiculous and off putting.
@theropologist caramba, força para vocês aí.
@theropologist There's a 7-11 in my town run by a family from the Middle East. I commented on the obnoxiously huge Trump 2020 sticker posted by the door and the owner said that posting it made them less of a target.
No idea if it's the same story with the halal/kosher place, but I wonder if it's a common technique.
@degaslikevegas That is a possibility, and maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt on that. They are visibley Muslim in a town where that itself could probably be an issue. On the other hand I know them from their food cart in Portland and they don't have the greatest reputation, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were genuinely fascist sympathizers.
@theropologist where else are you gonna go for MAGAganoush & FAILafel
@theropologist Hit that Google FB or Yelp review...
Don't really follow US politics, but a restaurant selling Egyptian food and flying Egyptian flag AND Trump's election propaganda seems a bit "jews for Hitler" to me.

But of course no one asked my opinion.
