I don't think people understand all the effects, besides weather disasters and the resulting increase in climate refugees. It greatly affects our ability to grow food, and even the food that we do grow will yield fewer and fewer nutrients due to soil acidification. Ocean life is already suffering. I see a lot of starvation in the near future.
@kimlockhartga @ZLabe Yup, it’s going to get progressively worse. Reducing emissions might help but it’s probably far too late. We are in “live with it” phase now. Pity our dear leaders really have no idea what to do.
@alex_p_roe @ZLabe people are way too conditioned to wanting immediate results. We could explain that we would not even see improvement for decades, even if we started to do everything right, at this exact minute, but almost no one would accept that.
I think the only hope is a disaster that gets rid of enough of us that we have to start over as a human population. I know that sounds both horrifying and extreme
@kimlockhartga @ZLabe Ha! It is a wee bit extreme and, sadly, probably won’t make much difference IMHO. Humanity’s memory is also remarkably short term too. We know there’s virtually no hope when people like Trump end up in power. Pity, it’s a pretty world
