beige.party is one of the many independent Mastodon servers you can use to participate in the fediverse.
A home to friendly weirdos. The Grey Gardens of the Fediverse (but beige). Occasionally graphically cacographic. Definitely probably not a cult (though you'll never be 100% sure). Beige-bless 🙏

You can decrease the negativity in your life 100% by replacing all the people you know with this quokka

@geekysteven That’s just a Dreamworks Animation character, right?

@michaelgemar @geekysteven

No. The Quokka is a type of micro kangaroo that lives exclusively on the island of Rottnest, 20km off the coast of Perth Australia.

This photo would have been taken in the main settlement area.

The fence in the background has the standard Rottnest island colour scheme.

@kingsleybugarin @michaelgemar @geekysteven I believe the post above might have been humorous in nature, a joking reference to a DreamWorks Pictures studio, known for equipping animals (as well as other animate creatures) in their computer-generated moving pictures with a signature smile, which can be found by inputting "DreamWorks face" in an internet search engine of your personal preference.

@geekysteven
I liked it when his tribe destroyed the Imperial AT-ST Walker by swinging two logs into it from the trees.

@geekysteven this is the originallynocturnal species which has evolved to stay up during the day to, apparently, humour humankind and their penchant for selfies.

seriously.

@kshah @geekysteven can confirm! Was over at Rottnest recently and the little devils alternated sneaking into the bakery with taking naps in odd corners because they’re really meant to be asleep (the one in the back with its head down is asleep)

@geekysteven put this and the eucalyptus-munching marsupial together and you can have a refreshing Quokka Koala!

@geekysteven What a beautiful little critter. Absolutely adorable. I've never even heard of this creation. Thank you for sharing.

@geekysteven I appreciate the alt text; it's notoriously hard to tell when a quokka that *looks like it's smiling* actually *is* smiling

@writingslowly for all I know, it could be like dolphins where they just look like that, but plot our downfall on the inside

@geekysteven who could doubt it? Thanks for adding quokkas to my list of things to be paranoid about

@geekysteven

Well can I still keep the good people, and do I get more than one quokka for all the clangers?

@geekysteven I see your quokka and raise you one tree kangaroo.

@geekysteven The smile is a lot less toothy than a Quoll.

@geekysteven Had to look that one up. Australian marsupial, somewhere between a kangaroo and a possum. Definitely has a possum tail, but much cuter face.

@geekysteven What we have down here are Hyraxes, who always look like they are judging your life choices.

@geekysteven @leah I hope you don't have a human partner who's reading this now 😂

@geekysteven@beige.party First of all I would like to be a quokka myself so I’ll get a better mood. 🙂

@geekysteven Can I not have one quokka per negative person I know and have an army of friendly quokkas?

@geekysteven I don't trust them. No one should look that cheerful this early in the morning. 😂

@antinomy @geekysteven don't they throw their babies to prey to escape?

@pshread @geekysteven Sounds rather 'accidentally-on-purpose' to me...

@geekysteven Sadly turning people into quokkas is beyond my abilities.

@geekysteven@beige.party

Sadly with a plushie IRL unless you want to kill the poor thing with your human cooties.

Close seconds are Otters & Red Pandas,

@geekysteven
Fake. Das ist ein Hamster mit gefotoshoppeder Hundenase.
@Rasta

@wauz @geekysteven you've ruined my second childhood 🤣

@Rasta
Es könnte auch mit Lightroom gemacht sein...
@geekysteven

@geekysteven
Thanks for this. I'm gonna look at it all day :)

@geekysteven they throw there babies out of the pouch to distract predators

Sorry if that ruined your day xd

@geekysteven So, looks like I'm the only one who managed to photograph an angry quokka...
