Pete Hegseth, soon to be the second only to Trump in command of the most powerful military in U.S., declares liberals, leftists, Democrats, even Presidents of the U.S. "domestic enemies." He doesn't mean it as a figure of speech.

I wanna emphasize that tho I'm a journalist, reading chap. 1 of Hegseth's new book on the military isn't any kind of special reporting. I'm just reading. Why aren't journalists on the beat digging in? Habit of assuming that powerful fascists don't really mean what they say

@anarchic_teapot @adhdeanasl @GottaLaff Yeah, but it really sucks that any resistance at this point basically hangs on either:
- They're incompetent
- They're lazy
- They were lying, and have some other, unknown goals that we don't know but we hope are better than their lies

I mean, not much of a defense we've got going.

@madopal @adhdeanasl @GottaLaff You don't have one. All that's going to happen, unless positive steps are taken, is that Trump will simply weed out those who aren't 100% loyal to him. Competence was never a factor.

As for the biggest positive steps, that window passed a week ago. Time to prepare for passive resistance, including helping fugitives. Some people will likely have to flee their state, if not the country.
