And they can have all the ham in the world i lived on a ranch in central Oregon years back and the older guy that came to do work made it a point of pride that he didn’t care if he breathed in RoundUp. I saw him out there spraying it in the wind, the mist blowing straight back in his face and he was proud of himself

... I would express surprise, but it would be rather disingenuous. Horror... yeah. I'm horrified, but not surprised.

Back in college, I knew a dude from Idaho (Twin Falls, but you could probably substitute any farming community), both of whose parents worked for Monsanto. He was utterly convinced that this company, whose goal is to make money by selling poison, would only create and sell things which were safe. That their safety studies proved, accurately, clearly, and without bias, how Safe(R)(TM) RoundUp (and other poisons) were. That they could never and would never hide unfavorable evidence.

I pretty much gave up on communicating with him after that. No point, once they drink the Kool-Aid. Just gotta know who they are and put guard rails around them so they can't hurt other people (or, if unable to do so, around yourself so you don't get hurt).

@RickiTarr @Kishi it’s utter insanity. They’re completely and perpetually in a state of denial. They refuse to believe they live in a world with such horrible people and in reality they’re surrounded by them.
