Trad Wifers: Women will be so much happier if we go back to the traditional ways.
My Sisters In Christ, female suicide was 20% higher before No Fault Divorces.
And here's the thing, I don't even blame all the women that fall into this mindset. They are working full time jobs and barely making it or not making it at all, and still doing most of the household chores and childcare. They want to have time to spend with their child and make bread and garden. Here is some beautiful put together woman online telling them it's possible if they just marry a man that wants to take care of them. Those of us who have been around awhile know better, we know why the world is like this, but not everyone does their research
yeah, staying home is far from the worst part of trad patriarchy
@cgsines @RickiTarr Yeah. Some of us have to because we don’t have any other options. Couldn’t work until recently because of visa status. Now no one wants to hire me because I have a huge gap in my resume. Mind you none of it is intentional
should go without saying tho, being forced to stay home is a different matter
@RickiTarr Well, we also confuse the face that many women put on in very traditional roles with how they really feel. This image of the woman who sacrifices herself for the family, makes her husband happy and always smiles. Because she was taught that that's what good women do. And when the marriage breaks down at some point, you don't know what's going on. Wasn't she always happy? No, not at all. She just swallowed everything and no one was empathetic enough to notice. That's not uncommon.
@Pistolenkind It's true, I hear so many men saying they had no idea there was anything wrong in their marriage and then suddenly the wife leaves
@RickiTarr most of the time in such relationships, shit goes down as soon as the kids are out of the house.
@RickiTarr l also think that we are asking the wrong question. It is not about whether traditional roles would be better, or modern, very liberal self-images, but about which roles we are forced into.
@RickiTarr @Pistolenkind Larry Gopnik's arc phrase in A Serious Man (2009): "I haven't done anything."
@Vorsos @RickiTarr How ironic that they are often right. Some men often see their relationship as a comfort. They do nothing and the woman gives until she is empty. They do nothing. That is the point.
@Pistolenkind @RickiTarr It’s a fascinating film that hammers it home in several ways. Complacency has consequences.

Wait until they see their new gas prices...
