I'm pretty tired of picking the "lesser of two evils" and would like to try the "better of two goods."
This post came about after trying to pick an Internet Service Provider, but the sentiment is pretty universal in all areas of life at this point.

@LoganFive You are describing something with a logical flaw. unfortunately some a good job is not incentivized in anything is three is no motive for people to be good when doing bad things will at the least maintain their existence.

@LoganFive I hate it as well. I hate how the structure makes me choose between the mega maiming machine and the delayed maiming machine. It makes my soul feel plunged in a sea of black.
But we are in the structure, and being threatened to have it brought down on all of our heads. So I resolve to push against it, and push for more than two buttons, and for a better structure on a local level (ranked choice, funded campaigns, ending citizens united, local elections, school boards, etc.)

@LoganFive in the US, our system is 51% take all, 49% gets nothing, with runaway corporate funding. This system can only support 2 parties, 1 right of center and 1 fascist. In a parliamentary system where a party with 18% of the vote gets 18% of the seats, a populist people focused left wing option being part of the governing coalition is possible.

@LoganFive @yamainu the only time I picked a “lesser of two evils” that had nothing to do with politics was when I chose a performance rights organization for my original music (which is BMI and not ASCAP).

@LoganFive Here in the UK I think we experienced a very real demonstration of what happens to a genuinely-principled politician aiming to take the highest office of the land to do actual good when Jeremy Corbyn found out about the power the right-wing press holds.
