Two years ago today I came out as #trans to my wife. I wrote a little about that when I came out to everyone here on Mastodon some months later:

Since then it's been a struggle with divorce, moving, surgery and not being able to have surgery. And now my government is trying to erase me and my siblings.
My only regret? That I didn't transition sooner.
I transitioned legally on the Fourth of July, 2001 because I too possess a fine sense of cosmic irony.
@Lana That. Is. Awesome!
@lisamelton @Lana My bottom surgery was on Leap Day—February 29, 2000. That kind of leap day only occurs once every 400 years. When I was offered the date I jumped at it.
@dgoldsmith Oh wow, that's fabulous! What trans girl wouldn't jump at that?
Also, congratulations! Maybe I can get mine some fine day.
@dgoldsmith @lisamelton Soooo that makes you... 6 years old??
@Lana @dgoldsmith @lisamelton A paradox, a paradox, a most ingenious paradox
@inthehands @Lana @lisamelton You beat me to it!
@dgoldsmith @lisamelton @Lana congrats (obviously belatedly on the surgery, but mostly on getting that date :D)
