beige.party is one of the many independent Mastodon servers you can use to participate in the fediverse.
A home to friendly weirdos. The Grey Gardens of the Fediverse (but beige). Occasionally graphically cacographic. Definitely probably not a cult (though you'll never be 100% sure). Beige-bless 🙏

I urge any of my friends on Mastodon.World (if there are any of you) to consider migrating. I'm about to block the domain. The spam is getting out of hand.

So long. Lemme know when you get shit sorted out.

There's a bunch of folks there that I really like, and I would hate to lose their accounts, but this is about curating my experience. And the spam is just too annoying.

I'll decide tonight. See how much more spam I get.

@Jorsh I don't think there's much spam on @MSTD.CA. Have a look there, especially you canucks.

@SonofaGeorge @Jorsh the important question is "does this instance have open registration or does it take 1 extra click from a mod to let a registration to go through?" :shiba_confused:

open reg breeds spam :zerotwo_shrug:

@Jorsh I've spent the morning blocking bot accounts from there. @adelinej

@KrajciTom@universeodon.com

They keep rotating which instance they use.

The best option is to filter new applications.

Jerry of Infosec exchange has already followed most of Misskey by requiring Approval for new accounts.
IE you have to say why you want an account and include your existing account/s for vibe checking if you have any.

Some Misskey instances are now on Invitation only.
Email Admin or someone you know on the instance to ask.

Good for you.

Users can't block on Misskey but I have had Masto AntiSocial silenced for months.
So far the Misskey Admins are on top of the problem with Masto-World.
But if it keeps up*, i'll mute it too.
