An old family friend in Houston urgently needs to replace her AC compressor. She’s disabled, cannot tolerate humidity due to health conditions, and has 2 gorgeous pups who also can’t take the heat.

I worry more for Claudia than the pups —because of her lungs & eyesight (she’s not supposed to be doing *anything* according to the eye doctor) — and because I take comfort in the knowledge that she’s a ride-or-die dog mom. She puts the dogs first— but I still worry about Turk & Tandy.

They need a new AC compressor, too.

We are almost HALFWAY to our goal, the amount needed to get Tandy, Turk, and their mom , Claudia, a new AC compressor & cool air in their house once again.

Tandy, a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, who looks a lot like a collie, sitting and looking up at the camera with a happy, tongue-out dog smile. Tandy, her 11-yr-old brother Turk (a Great Pyranees mix), and their 74-yr -old mom are living in Houston without AC right now. Claudia has lung damage from breast cancer that makes it very hard to breathe in humidity, as well as multiple eye hemorrhages in one eye & other health issues. They need a new AC compressor ASAP.
Claudia has a portable living room fan that displays the room temperature. It was 85 degrees in her house at 6pm when she sent this to me today. I then took the initiative to look up the Houston weather specifics at that time and the humidity was 76%. It’s higher at night.

Turk is seven years older than Tandy, his hair is even thicker and longer… poor guy is not in the mood to pose like Tandy and may never be until he’s comfortable again.

Side profile of Turk, a beautiful Great Pyrenees mix. Turk’s AC has been out for 2 weeks due to an old, broken down compressor. It’s already pretty miserable inside his Houston home due to the extremely high humidity and warming temperature, enough that it’s making his mom sick already (she has serious pre-existing health conditions). But it’s about to get a great deal hotter.
