Jesus Henry CHRIST.
Why have we been calling them flare guns when Very Pistol (So skill) (Much Amaze) (Many Wow) was an option this whole time.
@JoParkerBear Ah yes "the Very light"
@JoParkerBear @LRRRonEarth subway defense system.
@JoParkerBear Great for killing vampires. Very dead.
@gat do we? I thought more like “xerox some copies for me”
Also “here’s the xeroxes from earlier”
I am 42, sorta raised in my dad’s offices & been a few years since I’ve worked in an office—may be different now? I have noticed more people say “make some copies” instead of “xerox some copies”
Never heard anyone say photocopy/ies
@JoParkerBear In the Biggles books (yes, I am old) they are always called Very guns, and I have always assumed are named after a Mr Very.
Edit: OTOH it seems reasonable to call any small arm of less than 12-bore a "Slightly gun"
@JoParkerBear Because "Some stupid with a Very pistol burned the place to the ground..." doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
@Great_Albums SOOOO WOOOOW. SUCH EMERGENCY. VERY PISTOL BURNED HOME TO GROUND
@JoParkerBear I had it as Verey, despite spill chuck, and assume it is after the inventor. But I don't know who that was.
